Gastvortrag Carlos Yanes Roca

Aquaculture represents the fastest growing industry from lifestock on this planet and is often entitled ‘The Blue Revolution’. The industry predicts a further massive expansion of both, marine and freshwater culture systems, in the near future. Dr. Carlos Yanes Roca is a marine biologist from the Canary Islands, who is a senior lecturer and research scientist at the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters of the University of South Bohemia, currently a guest lecturer at the Division of Fish Health at VetmedUni, supported by the Erasmus Staff Program. He has been doing academic and industrial research in the field of aquaculture for a couple of decades now, at different renowned institutions worldwide. In a public talk at VetmedUni he provides an overview of marine aquaculture, describes new technologies and major challenges related to important pathogen- as well as climate change-related issues.
