Who can use our interlibrary loan service?
- All library patrons
- Other libraries (further information: see below)
What can be ordered?
- Books (monographs, compilations, volumes)
- Photocopies from journal articles
- University theses (Master-Theses, PhD-Theses, etc.)
How do I make a request?
You can submit your request via our library catalogue (Link: "interlibrary loan" , log in necessary) or e-mail.
How much does this service cost?
Interlibrary loan is a charged service! To pay the service charges consult our circulation desk. For more detailed informations about the costs see the tariff list.
For employees of the university the respective departments and clinics usually cover the expenses. Please clarify beforehand if the costs will be covered by applying to your responsible administration office.
How does the disposal work?
Photocopies of journal articles are yours to keep. You can pick up your order at the circulation desk. University staff will be provided with their copies via interoffice mail.
Books and university publications (hardcover) ordered via interlibrary loan will be deposited at our circulation desk for a determined loan periode (normally 1 month) and can only be used within our library. After the loan period has expired the item will be returned to the lending library!
Information for other libraries
The university library offers its own holdings for interlibrary loans to libraries in Austria and abroad.
The loan period for books and university theses from our collections is four weeks, which if required, may be extended for another four weeks.
Journals are not available via interlibary loan, but copies of individual articles can be requested.
To check our current prices, see our tariff list. For loans to libraries outside Austria we prefer to charge IFLA-Vouchers.
Please send your requests to our interlibrary loan department.
