A central focus of our department is advising on media and university didactics. We support lecturers in the selection of suitable tools and media and help them to optimize their teaching methods didactically. Our individual advice aims to make courses more interactive and conducive to learning, in order to make teaching more effective and exciting.

Training and qualification programs: Teaching and didactics

We offer targeted training and courses that support teachers in efficiently integrating digital tools into their teaching. The programs cover a wide range of topics, from didactic and media didactic approaches to media production and the use of learning platforms. The aim is to support lecturers in the successful implementation of digitally supported teaching methods.

In cooperation with the Human Resources Development department, we support the continuing education program in the area of teaching and didactics. We also supervise the VetDidactics Advanced certificate program, which provides in-depth didactic training. The VetDidactics: First Steps training course we offer is aimed specifically at new teachers and provides an introduction to key didactic topics, but is open to all interested teachers. These programs offer teachers practical training to continuously improve their teaching skills. The offer can be found in the catalog of the Human Resources Development (PE) department.

Information platform for teachers | Digital teaching and media

Through our digital tools and services platform, we provide teachers with tutorials, guides and up-to-date information on learning technologies, tools and media productions. These resources, which are accessible via Vetucation, are constantly being expanded to support teachers with the latest developments and tools. Faculty can find the platform here

Teaching Vets Keynote and Award Ceremony

The Teaching Vets-Symposium

The Teaching Vets Symposium, organized by the Vice-Rector for Study Affairs and Clinical Veterinary Medicine (VRLK), takes place once a year and focuses on teaching at the Vetmeduni. The invited keynote speakers dedicate their presentations to current VRLK topics. The event is also the highlight of the internal teaching showcase. The coveted titles of Teacher and Instructor of the Year and the “S.U.P.E.R” student award are presented.

The Impulsbreakfast

The Vetmeduni-internal event series “Impulsfrühstück” provides an impulse for innovative teaching, in which external and internal lecturers present didactically exciting approaches, thought models or practical teaching projects in short and concise presentations. The individual sessions take place at 8am and are also recorded. This gives all Vetmeduni lecturers the opportunity to watch the sessions at any time.
