Great Tit (Parus major)

Size & weight: 13-15 cm, 14-22 g

Appearance: Blue-gray upperparts with a black head cap and white cheeks, yellow colored breast, streaked with a single black central vertical strip

Habitat: Inhabits various forests, parks, and gardens.

Song: Very variable song and familiar call ("tsitsibee")

Nest & breeding: The female builds the nest in tree cavities (see Great Spotted Woodpecker), wall crevices and nesting boxes. She lays 5-12 eggs 1-2 times a year between March and July.

Food: Seeds, fruits, insects and nuts, rich in fat in the winter
