Eurasian Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes)

Size & weight: 9-10 cm, approx. 8 g

Appearance: Back and wings rusty brown streaked, throat and breast lighter brownish colour; a lighter eyebrow stripe; distinctive feature: the often perpendicularly erect short tail

Habitat: Inhabits deciduous and mixed forests rich in undergrowth, as well as gardens and parks with dense vegetation close to the ground.

Song: Loud and trilling song

Nest & breeding: Builds globular nests in dense vegetation. The female lays 5-7 eggs twice a year between April and June.

Food: Insects, spiders, sometimes seeds; special soft food mixtures at feeders
