Size & weight: 10-11 cm, 6-9 g

Appearance: Back and wings olive brown to gray-green; throat and breast yellowish/whitish in colour, dark legs
The Common Chiffchaff is easily confused with the Willow Warbler (Phylloscopus trochilus).

Habitat: Diverse forests, parks, and gardens

Song: Clear, monosyllabic stanzas ("zelp zalp")

Nest & breeding: The female builds a spherical nest in dense vegetation close to the ground. She lays 4-6 eggs 1-2 times a year between May and July.
