Neda Barghi studied fisheries engineering in Persian Gulf University-Iran. She pursued her master’s at the San Carlos University (Philippines) and received her PhD from University of the Philippines-Diliman. She studied adaptive processes of exogenes through comparative transcriptomics and genomics analysis of Conus during her PhD. During 4 years postdoc she worked on the genomics of thermal adaptation in Drosophila. From 2020-2024, she held an independent group leader position at Vetmeduni (equivalent of Assistant Prof.) where she studied polygenic adaptation using experimental evolution. She has organized several international workshops on polygenic adaptation and was vice head of the Institute of Population Genetics. Currently, she is a Research Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology.
